Thounds!

I’ve found a new fun site called Thounds.

“Thounds is a music platform, easily accessible through a social network.
Thounds helps people capture their musical inspirations which can be recorded live with a computer microphone or by plugging in a real instrument. Finished tracks can be shared through blog pages, Facebook, Myspace, Virb and other popoluar networks.
Ideas don’t only come from musicians: everyone gets musical inspirations and Thounds helps catch them. Whether you are a musician or just a music lover, you can contribute to a new track and enjoy it with your friends and with many others around the world.”

The nice thing about it is that they have an iPhone app, so if I come up with an idea I can just grab my phone and record the melody straight away and then people can start adding stuff like guitar riffs, bass lines, beats etc.!

That’s how great music is made!

Here’s my first “thound”, I sang a hook into my iPhone and in a couple of hours a dude from Spain called horriblito had added some really nice guitar riffs and backing vocals  to it! You can also hear my daughter Ella, 6 months old, trying to sing along in the background… :)

I see you aren’t wasting any time before wrapping lil Ella in the magical world of music!! I’m sure you gonna play together later on..

Hey but what if you want a previous version (before say the 3rd or 4th addition)?

Yeah I know! Love the concept! If it doesn’t turn out to be useful at least it’s a nice way to jam with people around the world!

If you want listen to how the progress of the track has been you can go to my thounds page: http://thounds.com/dubiousquip

And when you see my boom clap thound you can press the red square with a number in it to expand the view to all tracks that been recorded, from there you can solo/mute any track to see what people have contributed with!
